Our history

Our naturally-based bath and body products were originally formulated for the Cowshed spa at Babington House, Somerset, the contemporary country house hotel and rural outpost of London's Soho House, a private members' club.

Handmade with the finest natural ingredients, the first Cowshed products were used during treatments at the spa and in the House's rooms for guests to enjoy. The range takes its name from the location of the spa, in what was once a working cowshed at the grade II listed Georgian manor.

Inspiration came close to home: an infusion of herbs hand-picked from Babington House's Victorian walled garden, blended with pure essential oils sourced from around the world, give each formula Cowshed's delicate yet distinctive signature fragrance.

With over 40 products in the range (and counting), Cowshed is currently stocked in over 100 stores across the UK, US and around the world.

Our shops

In 2006, the first Cowshed Shop opened in Chiswick, West London. Next came the Cowshed Shop, Soho, the London concept store which opened in September 2007.

Cowshed spas

The first stand-alone Cowshed spa, Cowshed Clarendon Cross, opened its doors in 2005. Offering a full range of Cowshed treatments - including Cowgroom top-to-toe packages - the West London spa also features a buzzing café and shop.

In addition to Cowshed Clarendon Cross and Babington House, there are further Cowshed spas at the following locations:

Soho House New York, a hotel and private members' club. The spa is for the exclusive use of members and hotel guests.

Shoreditch House, East London. Part of the Soho House group, this private members' club is located in the heart of Shoreditch. The spa is for the exclusive use of members.

The Scotsman Hotel, Edinburgh. The hotel features its own Cowshed spa offering a full range of treatments including a choice of four Cowshed Packages which include the use of the hotel's stainless steel swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam rooms.

Virgin Clubhouse at Heathrow, located in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport. The perfect destination for a spot of pre-flight pampering, Cowshed at the Clubhouse is located in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport.

St Moritz Hotel, Cornwall. St Moritz Hotel in Trebetherick boasts its own Cowshed spa, offering six treatment rooms and a wide range of Cowshed treatments.
